Cocoa Drinking chocolate with coconut blossom sugar - alternatively enjoy
Cocoa has been used as a luxury product for more than 1000 years, but is also known as a natural wonder, as it consists of at least 30% minerals and high-quality salts. After the Spanish conquered the Aztec Empire in the 15th century, they brought cocoa to Europe on their journey.
For the first time cocoa was consumed as a drink in aristocratic circles, back then without the addition of sugar. Its high digestibility and the many healing claims made cocoa a popular health drink.
Cocoa experienced its breakthrough after it was accidentally drunk with cane sugar. As a "flavor enhancer", the Europeans quickly found favor with this drink.
What makes chocolate so special?
Our chocolate is made only from organic cocoa and organic coconut blossom sugar. Both ingredients are mixed homogeneously in a complex process at the Kündig company.
Since we do not use any additives, this "pretreatment" is necessary there. Packed in sacks, it comes back mixed and filled in the well-known and lovingly designed 200g packs. Since we use coconut blossom sugar from Java, which only has a GI ( glycemic index ) of 35, diabetics can also enjoy this in moderation.
What is the difference between normal drinking chocolate and our chocolate?
- Without additives (without soy lecithin, flavorings and emulsifiers)
- Only with fair organic coconut blossom sugar (therefore better suited for diabetics)
- High cocoa content (our chocolate contains at least 40% cocoa)
- Plastic-free, sustainable packaging (packaging is 100% organic)
- Naturally vegan, gluten-free and without allergens
Origin & quality
Our chocolate is of course completely processed and bottled in Germany.
We source the high-quality organic cocoa from the Dominican Republic and Sierra Leone and the organic coconut blossom sugar from Indonesia (Java).
The chocolate is an in-house brand and is only available in this quality from whole sugar.
Interesting to know:
Cocoa with sugar was the favorite drink of Louis XIV, the Emperor of France in the 16th century. It is believed that 90% of the liquid he consumed was cocoa. We are sure that he would also have liked our chocolate.
